Blogs and personal empowerment
With all the brouhaha surrounding blogs, especially warblogs these days, I've started to develop my thoughts more on the concept of empowering people. Blogs like Dear Raed and others that are making headlines show how this can be a very good medium. I did discuss how blogging depending on the audience and objectives naturally forms a circle of exclusivity around it. This isn't a bad thing, it's natural in human social interaction. However when promoting the tools and medium as Joi Ito has been, one must be careful not to exclude people because it can defeat the purpose of providing individuals with a voice by limiting exposure.
